Tonight is the Boston premiere of Stefan Weisman and David Cote’s The Scarlet Ibis with Boston Opera Collaborative, directed by Greg Smucker and conducted by Tian Hui Ng. Ann will be performing alongside several incredibly talented artists, all of whom are excited to share this extraordinary story with Boston audiences. Though the process of understanding the complex relationship of brotherhood, developing puppetry skills, and learning how to navigate the moving set was challenging, this show has been one of the most fulfilling experiences for Ann. The camaraderie and teamwork developed between castmates was essential for the success of the show, and as the process progressed these relationships flourished more and more organically and artistically. Audiences will be transported into a world of joy, childhood naiveté, struggle, pain, and utter despair. Come join tonight’s cast on a journey of a lifetime!
